Take A Spin in Virtual Reality

Zyn22 is a boutique fitness studio in the Dallas Fort Worth area focusing on spin classes. When challenged to come up with a digital strategy to further Zyn22's business, I wanted to think outside the box, only supplementing the strategy with the traditional SEO, display, and social media advertising. Outside just furthering the business, it was important to determine the true nature of the problem at Zyn22. Through research it was discovered that there seems to be a gap between the customers’ perceptions of the brand and the expectations they have for a cycle class. In turn, there is a low retention rate and a narrow customer base. As I try to stay up to date with new technology in the digital space, I thought that the use of virtual reality would be beneficial for Zyn22 in solving this problem. Zyn22 could create a Youtube 360 video that showed a first 

person perspective of what it was like to take a spin class at their studio. This video would be shown through a headset, such as Google cardboard. In addition, Zyn22 could take their bikes to various areas around Fort Worth to increase awareness in the metroplex. As consumers walked by and saw the bright yellow bike, they could then put on the headset and place themselves in a Zyn22 spin class to understand what goes on at Zyn22. They could then be encouraged to sign up for a class as the first class is free. This initiative would be paired with a social media push, encouraging consumers to post pictures of themselves with the bike in the various locations using the hashtags #FindyourRYDE to encourage social sharing and generating earned media in the process. This effort focuses on increasing awareness and showing consumers what Zyn22 offers as a company.
